These are stories of animals that came into foster and due to special bonds were adopted by those who fostered them -
"furever" fosters as we like to call them.
Penny
Penny is a lucky girl…she is adopted by her foster family, just in time for the New Year! Congratulations!

Rusty
Rusty is an older gent who came from a puppy mill. Due to infection, he had to have his teeth pulled. He is a cuddler and even is gainfully employed at a local vet clinic! He has become a part of so many lives. Who couldn't love this lil guys face with his tongue out? Though he hasn't been officially adopted, we don't think he is going anywhere soon and has been spending his time in a loving foster home. He has also become part of the mascot squad at Parkside, along with Sparti the cat. Rusty helps to bring smiles to visitors and keeps the workers of the clinic inline! Way to go Rusty, keep working your cuteness!
Little Man aka Manny Bananas
Another horror story from a puppy mill. This little 4 lb fellow was kept in a crammed pen with other dogs who mauled him. He laid with his gaping wounds for 2 1/2 days before a rescue contact was able to get him relinquished to her. After nearly 12 weeks of recovery time, Manny aka Manny Bananas, has healed and adjusted to life in a loving home. The GBAR volunteer who did the transport, fostering and wound care, made a special bond with him. She eventually adopted this lil guy! He is now safe in his "furever" home! This photo was taken and sent to Dr Luke in Wausau with a note from Manny saying "High five, Dr Luke! Thanks to your help, I made it!"
Agnes
This tiny girl came from a puppy mill and weighs 3 lbs 10 oz. She was emaciated, terrified and stayed curled in a ball for days. We were worried that her spine would never straighten to allow her to walk. She has gained weight, walking and her fur has changed from coarse to soft. She lifts her head in curiosity to see the world around her and loves to snuggle. An enlarged heart and her frail status we opted not to have her spayed. She did have a dental done to heal an infected mouth. After watching the miraculous recovery of this tiny being her foster moms decided she was too dear to let go, and kept her. She will spend the rest of her days in a quieter safe atmosphere with unconditional love.
Caleb
Caleb is a 12 year old sable shepherd that came to us for foster care after being removed from a "shelter" that was shut down. When he came to us he was so traumatized that he wouldn't walk & had to be carried outside to potty. He is now a happy, "normal" pup that we have fallen in love with & just couldn't let go of.
Hanah
Hanah was placed in a home once but was returned to her foster family. Her foster mom just couldn't stand the idea of placing this precious little girl one more time so her foster mom & dad adopted her. :)
